Playboy magazine decided to recreate the magazine covers from the past to pay homage to the timeless beauties of the past. The Son of Playboy’s founder, Cooper Hefner, came up with the idea while having a chat with his mother. He casually asked his mother if she would like to re shoot her Playboy magazine cover and his mother agreed which led to the online magazine cover shoot. Cooper Hefner said, “The idea was to honor, to commemorate some of the Playmates who have maintained a relationship with us through the decades.”

He also added, “They were, I must say, flattered to be asked. We shot some of them in L.A., and many of them had stories about me as a child. One said, ‘I remember you sitting on my lap when you were a little boy and I was feeding you macaroni.'”

Here is Candace Collins Jordan from her December 1979 cover and now 2017 shoot.

Renee Tenison is seen posing just like she did back in 1990 when she was the first African-American Playmate to be featured on the Playboy Magazine.

The model talked about the criticism she received back in the year 1990, “When I did Playboy, there was a little bit of controversy because I was the first African-American Playmate of the Year and some women were saying I was being objectified. But I said, ‘Well if you’re pro-choice, shouldn’t I have the right to choose what I want to do?”
